New Year Around The World

New Year is a party-time and involves lots of fun and frolic. New Year is the time to welcome the coming of a new year with open arms and saying good bye to the previous year. New Year around the world is celebrated with great pomp and show. People of various cultures across the globe celebrate New Year with big smiles and with decoration of their houses and streets.

People across the globe in advance make a plan for celebrating the New Year. On the New Year's Eve, you can treat yourself with some delicious cuisine and host a re-union dinner or party in honor of your pals or acquaintances. People also go to the temples, churches or mosques to offer prayers and ask for a joyous and satisfying New Year that is about to come. New Year around the world is generally celebrated on 1st January. On the New Year's Eve that is on 31st of December, people dance and sing all the night to their hearts content.

As soon as the clock stuck 12, fireworks display lit the night sky. There are different ways of celebrating New Year. In Ipoh in Malaysia, people celebrate the Chinese New Year. Chinese New Year is the first day of the Chinese lunar year. During the Chinese New Year, people burn fire crackers, as it is believed that burning fireworks drive away the evil spirits. The locals shop, arrange dinner parties, visit shrines and also decorate their houses with paper firecrackers and red lanterns.
